Large Field Erected Cooling Towers



IWC’s strength is our ability to design and construct large field erected cooling towers to meet clients specific needs and operating conditions.

We can offer various solutions ranging from counterflow to crossflow configurations in either forced or induced draft. These are available in numerous different materials of construction as follows:

  • Reinforced Concrete
  • Steel (Painted , hot dip galvanized or stainless steel)
  • Wood

Various types of fill can be used, which are dependant on the application and water quality.

Some fills on offer are:
  • Concrete tower under construction in Mauritius – WCI
  • Film Packs – Clean water
  • Trickle Packs – Moderately dirty water
  • Splash Packs – Dirty water
  • Splash Bars – Very dirty water

The above are available in a number of materials selected to provide the most economical but technically acceptable solution.

Fills are available in:
  • PVC
  • Polypropylene
  • HDPE
  • Stainless Steels of various grades
  • Timber

The selection of cooling tower configuration, material and fill type is determined by the clients needs, type of process to be cooled, environmental conditions, water quality, space availability, location and economic requirements.
